Galapagos People: Robinson Crusoe

The 1719 First Edition Cover of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe.

Robinson Crusoe is the title of a novel published by Daniel Defoe. It was a story of a man who was shipwrecked on an island off the coast of South America. It is thought that the novel was inspired by the story of Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish buccaneer who was stranded on a Chilean Island for four years before being rescued by William Dampier.
