Composite cone volcano

A Composite cone volcano is a cone shaped volcano formed by many layers of lava, tephra (larger pieces of volcanic material), pumice, and volcanic ash. They are characterised by a steep profile and periodic explosive eruptions. It is one of the most common types of volcano. They are also called stratovolcano.
