The Panama Current brings warmer waters to the Galapagos Islands from the North East, flowing down from Central America. This signals the start of the ‘wet season’ and these warm waters dominate the climate of the islands from January to May. This current brings with it schools of fish, sharks and rays and is ideal for observing the marine life due to calmer water than other periods of the year.
