Extinction is when a species no longer exists in the world. Extinction is marked when the last individual of a species dies. Threat of extinction can be measured using the ‘Red List’, which is curated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Extinction is the final level of the red list and indicates a species no longer exists.
